Plans For 2016

How is it possibly Friday already!?! Like many of you I'm sure, I have been busy reclaiming my house after Christmas. I don't know about you but for me there just seems to be things stuffed everywhere during December. And by January I feel like I must clean out all the stuff before the walls close in on me!!

I've been thinking a lot about the direction things will be headed in 2016 and I've nailed down a few things that I would like to accomplish.

DIY Christmas Balls - Quick and Inexpensive

I feel like I have been a bit off with blogging lately. And, I have missed it! Between finishing up the One Room Challenge, getting ready to host Thanksgiving, my boy coming home, hosting Thanksgiving, and now trying to decorate for Christmas...whew! I just haven't taken a second to sit down and share with y'all. And I have managed to catch a little cold. :( Ain't nobody got time for that! So, last night as I was watching the Fixer Upper season premier (anyone else a #fixerupperfanatic?), I whipped up some filler balls to use in my Christmas decor. And even though it's mid-morning already, I thought I would share!! ;)

DIY Gone Wrong - Dip-Dye Debacle

Hello there friends! I'm here to share with you the ugly truth that sometimes DIY doesn't always go the way you planned. Sometimes you will fail. And fail is what I did this weekend. :(

One of the things I have been wanting to try for a while is a dip-dye ombre. I read plenty of tutorials, and honestly it looked pretty straight forward. So, I got confident and dove right in. I read the directions on the dye bottle, and proceeded with what I remembered from the tutorials I had read.

How To Make Custom Piping Trim For Pillows

Hi there! I'm so happy to be back to blogging!! My posts might seem a little all over the place for the next few weeks. I have a lot of things to share from the summer! Today I would like to start with how to make custom piping trim. The title says "for pillows" but you can use this for anything you would like to add piping to. As far as the level of difficulty, I would say it's pretty easy. If you can sew a straight line, you can do this!

I think sewing tutorials are really hard to write, but I'm going to do the best I can and hope that the pictures will fill in the gaps.

Ribbon Makeover

Sometimes the little things help bring things together.  Sometimes I have to take a break from the big projects and just do a small project that I can start and finish in an hour or so.  This project was just that.

I bought these canvas baskets from Target a few years ago.  They are perfect for holding back yard things by the back door.  One for dog stuff and one for all.the.balls.
