Fridays Unfolded Link Party {#134}

Welcome back to Fridays Unfolded at Frazzled JOY!!

I hope your week has been fun and productive. This week brought along an arctic blast in our neck of the woods!!  I'm talkin' one day it was 75 degrees and the next it was 32 degrees!!  BRRR!! I know that's probably not that cold for some of you, but the drastic change is quite the shock to the system!!

This week I have been putting the finishing touches on another project in our kitchen.  The last bit of DIYing that will be done in the space. And I am in love and can't wait to share it with you all!!

I've also been crafting a bit, trying some things I've wanted to try for a long time.  And, of course playing around with tablescapes for Thanksgiving, since we are hosting :).

You guys shared some really great stuff last week!!  Be sure to check out and follow our Pinterest boards to see what we've been pinning!

I'm resisting the urge to even think about Christmas decorations, but this cute wreath had me at the red plaid ribbon!  Besides, Tanya is calling this a "winter wreath", so I guess that's allowed, considering the weather and all ;).

Party Time Graduation Style

So I mentioned that high school graduation was over.  Last weekend we shared our celebration with our family at our home after the ceremony. Knowing it was just family, I didn't go too crazy with preparations, but I did want it to be festive. And, to be honest, I needed some cute crafts to keep my mind off the reality that my first baby was graduating high school...

So, to pinterest I went, and I found lots of wonderful ideas from lots of talented bloggers that have done this before :).  I compiled the things that I thought would be doable on a budget and got to work.

This is what my kitchen table looked like about half-way through!!

And a few hours later this is what I had (plus the garland :)).

Here is how things looked on party day!!

Like I said, my ideas came from lots of different places, and most of them I modified just a touch to make them work for me.

I knew I wanted to make some of this tissue paper tassel garland.

I looked at lots of tutorials, but this one was my favorite.

I added the pennant sign, by cutting the triangles and circles from scrapbook paper.  The letters are traced on with a sharpie using a letter stencil I had.

I loved this adorable nod to the day - silverware tied in the napkins to look like diplomas.

These little bottle hats I found here, and knew I had to make them for sure.  They were super simple!!  I used embroidery floss for the tassels on mine.  I just tied a knot in the middle and pulled apart the string on one side.  :)

I had made pennants like these before for our baseball banquet last year they were super easy - cut out of scrapbook paper, glued on painted black dowel sticks.

The pots are simple plastic garden pots with some rocks in the bottom to keep them from blowing off the table, some styrofoam, and silver basket filler.

I scattered pics of my boy at all ages, that I gathered from around the house, on all of the tables.

And this cute subway print was free to download here.  It was the perfect addition to the table!!

A friend of mine made these once for our preschool graduation, and I have always thought they were adorable, so they were a must.  They are simply a mini Reese's peanut butter cup, and a Deluxe Graham cookie. I used a white Twizzler for the tassel because I did not want to pipe that. All the elements held together by some melted chocolate almond bark.

I wanted the cake to be simple but festive, so when I saw these I knew that was the way to go!!

You can check out my Party Time pinterest board if you want to see more.  I wanted to do it all, but I had to stop somewhere.  :)  I only spent around $25 total for the decorations - all DIYed (except the balloons).  The small star balloons, and the silver filler, the silver tray and the green cake plates all came from Dollar Tree. The rest from Walmart or things I already had. Always shop your house first before you run out to buy things for a party.  I am always surprised when I find things that work great!!
